Taj Mahal apparently was a hindu temple devoted to Tejaji (Jat name for Lord Shiva). C14 tests on it's doors have proved it to be predating Shahjahan. Humm very interesting. The article is pretty conclusive and well rounded in terms of proofs.
Now the saddening part, why does the archeological department of India not open it up to an enquiry. It's indeed a disgrace that the real history of Tejo Mahalaya is being shrouded in mystery to avoid upsetting communal harmony. Let it be decided using scientific techniques and conclusively proven what the age of Taj is. If it predates ShahJahan and proves it was indeed a temple then restore it as a hindu temple. Why is the BJP and the VHP sleeping. Atleast be good in what they do. Thinking about this makes my blood boiling again at the beurocracy and political impotency that we find ourselves in. Shiv Shiv !

New Windows version Out

Check out http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20050727-5142.html.
Do read the story there about how Windows will one day help save someone's life. Now i for one i won't wish treatment which relies on Winblows to my enemies. But the story is so funny it cracks me up. I kept on thinking about how some day soon BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) could be a reality.
Hospital : Quick start the Consulting with specialist.
Specialist : Ok make the incision and cut the guys heart open.
....
BSOD , Windows craps up.
Specialist: Damn ! another guy dead because of winblows.

Phoenix is hot

It is hot. Damn straight. The high for the day is 107F or 40 for all you C lovers. Now that is not that bad you might be tempted to say. Well it is between 37 - 40 for the entire day. From morning 9:00 to evening 9:00 it hovers in that range. Humidity is in 20s and that makes it really hot to live in. Having said that i am still playing cricket. There is a night cricket tournament going on in Phoenix from evening 6:00 - 10:00 and i still find myself bowling 5 overs at 6:00 p.m. when temprature is 105F. Cricket sure is a religion.

The heat makes me miss the summers of Bhopal. The evenings use to be so nice there in summers, just wait for the sun to come down and post 8:00 p.m. it was perfect weather. The mornings upto 8:00 a.m. use to be awsome too. I remember eating a lot of mangoes, drinking lots of Rasna and Ruh-Efza, swimming real late or real early in the morning to escape the crowds, sitting around the lake around Ravindra Bhawan after evening hours, and of course night time tennis ball cricket :)

American Career Hierarchy

The top 3 (most coveted) careers in my opinion are:
#1 Lawyer -- 3 extra years of school, good return on investment.
#2 Doctor -- Prestige and lots of $$$$
#3 MBA -- Lots of perk, great benefits.

I would like to know what ranking an Application Developer job has in terms of career aspirations. The reason is two folds, first lots of little technical stuff I do and would like to chat about / note / share is inconvenient in Hindi. Also there are times when I find myself thinking in English and translating for Bhaat Baji.
So here I am, Kalicharan Gaytonde, who couldn't manage a diary as a kid for more than 1 week actively authoring two blogs.
