American Career Hierarchy

The top 3 (most coveted) careers in my opinion are:
#1 Lawyer -- 3 extra years of school, good return on investment.
#2 Doctor -- Prestige and lots of $$$$
#3 MBA -- Lots of perk, great benefits.

I would like to know what ranking an Application Developer job has in terms of career aspirations. That number will explain a lot of things.
